Forsythinol

Forsythinol is an extract of the plant Pueraria lobata that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antiviral activities. Forsythinol is a natural drug with the chemical name of puerarin. One of the major active ingredients in forsythinol is epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs). EETs inhibit microbial growth by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis and causing cell death. Forsythinol also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. The acetate extract of Pueraria lobata has also been shown to have anticarcinogenic effects on human breast cancer cells in vitro. Forsythinol can be found in foods such as oroxylum indicum and fructus.
